A home for books and ideas

shbl is an Albanian publishing house within LUSHAJ.NETWORK. We see a book as a meeting place between an author, an idea and a reader. We are interested in distinct voices, independent thought and writing that gives readers a reason to pause and reflect.

Cultural roots, an open outlook

Albanian language and culture are an important starting point for us. That focus goes hand in hand with an interest in other subjects, readers and languages. Our catalog includes publications in Albanian, German and English; each book’s language is identified separately from the language of the website.

Different subjects, considered publishing

The current catalog brings together economics and leadership, parenting and family, humor, and books for children and about Albanian culture. We also welcome new literary and nonfiction proposals. Each project is considered on its merits and its fit, without general promises of publication.

Collaboration starts with an idea

New and experienced authors can introduce a project through Publish with us. A clear outline, an intended readership and a well-chosen sample help us understand the book. Any potential publishing relationship and its terms are discussed separately.
